Austin Che is the founder of Ginkgo Bioworks and has been with the company since its early days in 2008. Ginkgo’s leadership materials say he previously led software development there and helped build functions including finance, people operations, IT, and infrastructure; he later focused on strategic partnerships, investments, and expanding the company’s ecosystem. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and degrees in Computer Science and Psychology from Stanford.
